Aston Martin DBR1
As promised at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, Aston Martin unveiled today, May 19, 2013 at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring race the exceptional CC100 Speedster Concept - a vehicle specially designed to celebrate the company’s centenary. The CC100 made its debut by lapping the the circuit together with the 1959 DBR1 - the model that inspired. Behind the wheel was Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez.
The new CC100 measures 4,5 m (177.16 inches) in length and 2 m (78.74 inches) in width, and, according to the first details offered by the company it features hint at potential future design direction.
Starting in 1956, Aston Martin built the DBR1 to race in the World Sportscar Championship and other races of the era. The DBR1 came with a 250-horsepower 2.5-liter straight-six-cylinder engine, which had a lot to do with its 1959 victory at 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Following the 1959 victory, the DBR1 project was scrapped and the remaining models were sold off to private owners. Its last victory came in 1960 when a privateer piloted the DBR1/2 to a first-place finish in the 1960 Rouen Grand Prix. The DBR1 models lasted another two years in the racing scene until retiring after the 1962 season.
The DBR1 is now one of the most sought after Aston Martin collector cars.
Created as a stunning celebration of the great British brand’s 100 years of sports car excellence the one-off CC100 looks both to the past and the DBR1 – Aston Martin’s greatest sporting triumph on the track – and to the future with its teasing glimpses of potential future design direction.
The 6.0-litre V12-powered concept car today makes its world debut by completing a lap of the famous Nordschleife at Germany’s ADAC Zurich 24 Hours of Nürburgring race. It is lapping the circuit together with the 1000km race-winning 1959 DBR1 with British racing legend Sir Stirling Moss at the wheel. It is the most tangible expression yet of the brand’s year-long 2013 centenary celebrations.
Viewed by tens of thousands of lucky spectators in Germany, the radical speedster is being driven today by Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez. He said: “CC100 is the epitome of everything that is great about Aston Martin. It represents our fantastic sporting heritage, our exceptional design capability, our superb engineering know-how and, above all, our adventurous spirit!
“I have nicknamed it ‘DBR100’ because of its affinity to the great 1959 race-winning cars and, of course, our 100-year anniversary in 2013.
“But this car is more, even, than a simple ‘birthday present’ to ourselves: it shows that the soul of Aston Martin – the thing that differentiates us from all the other car makers out there – is as powerful as ever and I very much hope that everyone who catches a glimpse of it at the Nürburgring today enjoys seeing it.”
Designed and constructed in fewer than six months at Aston Martin’s global headquarters in Gaydon, working with key supplier Multimatic Inc, under the leadership of Special Projects and Motorsport Director David King, the finished look of the two-seater CC100 is the work of Design Director Marek Reichman working alongside the brand’s Chief Exterior Designer Miles Nurnberger.
Miles explained: “The brief was very simple, yet enormously testing: create something that reflects the 100 years of Aston Martin heritage and signals the future of the brand.
“The idea of an iconic speedster concept that nods to the Le Mans − and Nürburgring – winning cars of 1959 soon came, and we have had complete freedom to shape this car.”
Marek Reichman said: “I’m extremely proud of the entire team at Gaydon for creating this remarkable sports car concept in such a short time.
“The need to create a truly fitting tribute to 100 years of the Aston Martin brand has brought out the creativity and talent that makes Aston Martin such an exceptional luxury sports car maker.”
Measuring almost four and a half metres nose to tail, and more than two metres wide (including mirrors) the Speedster Concept body is a classic example of the almost infinitely flexible nature of Aston Martin’s trademark Vertical Horizontal engineering philosophy.
With a body and interior crafted from carbon fibre, tooled and provided by low volume specialists Multimatic, the CC100 utilises the latest generation AM11 naturally aspirated V12 gasoline engine mated to a six-speed hydraulically actuated automated sequential manual transmission. Controlled via steering column-mounted paddle shifts the lightweight ‘box delivers truly sporting changes perfectly suited to the Speedster’s track-focused nature.
The drivetrain will power the CC100 from rest to 62 mph in a little over four seconds, while the top speed is limited to 180 mph.
Dr Bez added: “The future of Aston Martin is, very clearly, more exciting now than perhaps at any time in its history and I’m looking forward to seeing the excitement and anticipation that CC100 creates among Aston Martin owners and enthusiasts worldwide.”

Aston Martin One-77
The rare Aston Martin One-77 made its first appearance at the lovely Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in North America. This supercar is also constructed to have a stunning exterior design and to deliver a powerful performance just like any other Aston Martin cars. This Aston Martin model is made with a combination of the advanced technology to capture the eyes of the prospective buyers. The production of Aston Martin One-77 is only limited because it is expected that few can afford this expensive car. If you want to have this spectacular car, you must prepare £1,200,000 ($1.85 million).
Performance
You will find a 7.3 liter V12 engine under the hood of an Aston Martin One-77. This huge motor powers the car and gives an output power of 750hp and generate a maximum torque of 533 lb ft. The top speed that this car can reach is 220mph and can accelerate from rest to a speed of 60mph in 3.5 seconds. The transmission used in this supercar is the same to that of the strong transmission of DB9.
Exterior & Interior
The chassis of the car is a monocoque carbon fiber and the body is handcrafted aluminum. The body still carries the distinctive fashion of any Aston vehicle since it has the unique grille but with an additional elegance. The designer of this Aston car is Gaydon HQ and the monocoque is fabricated with the assistance of Multimatic (MTC). MTC is known to be the leader in making carbon composite technology, forceful simulation, and gives a vehicle analysis that is more advanced; thus, MTC has the unrivalled capability to thrust One-77 to the top.
The interior of the car is decorated with lavished amenity that anyone would want to have in the car. The subwoofer and woofer boxes of the special sound system are integrated into the carbon fiber body structure of the car. The solid blocks of aluminum of the sound system is able to deliver a power of 1000 watts and 750 watts of undistorted sound. The amplification of the woofer power is produced by the proprietary ICE power technology of Bang & Olufsen.
Brakes
The One-77 uses a sophisticated brake technology – the Carbon Ceramic Matrix. The calipers are re-fabricated so that the brake pads will give-off minimal heat to the brake fluid. The disc is enhanced so that there is great contact between the brake pads and the face of the disc. This maximum contact will ensure the power of the car in stopping.
Cost & Limitation
It has been reported that the One-77 will be sold at £1.2 Million British Pounds or approximately $1,850,000 US Dollars. The production of this car is limited to 77.
The Competition
Since Aston Martin One-77 has a high price, few cars can only be compared to it. One is Bugatti Veyron. Surely, Veyron is more powerful and packed with more advanced technology but in terms of luxury, One-77 is much better than Veyron. When compared to a C9 Pagani, One-77 is still ahead when it comes to luxury.
In the luxurious world of supercars, Aston Martin is the number one producer of sophisticated and elegant cars. One-77 has a classy style combined with the subtle touch of modernism.

Aston Martin Vanquish
The exterior styling of the Vanquish is an evolution of the DBS with many styling cues such as the elongated side strakes being inspired by the One-77. The boot lid includes an integrated rear spoiler designed to look as if it is impossible to make; this was done on the orders of Aston Martin Chief Executive, Dr. Ulrich Bez. The car has an exposed carbon fibre skirt showing its all carbon fibre body. The Vanquish uses the new Generation 4 VH chassis which is lighter and uses more carbon fibre than the Generation 2 VH used in the DBS.
The car features an all new interior based on the one found in the exclusive Aston Martin One-77. The standard interior is trimmed in hand stitched leather and alcantara available in a range of colours. The centre stack features an improved infotainment system over the one found in the DBS. The car is available as either a 2-seater or 2+2.The Vanquish uses an upgraded version of Aston Martin’s flagship V12 engine with a power output of 573 PS (421 kW; 565 bhp) at 6,750 rpm and torque of 620 N·m (460 lb·ft) at 5,500 rpm. Like most Aston Martins, the engine is front mid mounted with the power going to the rear wheels. It uses a fully catalysed stainless steel exhaust system with active bypass valves. The Vanquish uses an updated touchtronic2 transmission, Aston Martin's automatic gearbox, and unlike the DBS is only available as an automatic. It will be the first Aston Martin available with launch control.
The brakes are ventilated carbon ceramic discs, 398 mm (15.7 in) six-piston callipers in the front and 360 mm (14.2 in) four-piston callipers in the rear. The suspension is a lightweight aluminium front sub frame with hollow castings with independent double wishbone incorporating anti-dive geometry, coil springs, anti-roll bar and monotube adaptive dampers in the front and independent double wishbones with anti-squat and anti-lift geometry, coil springs, anti-roll bar and monotube adaptive dampers in the rear. It has a three stage adjustable adaptive damping system including normal, sport and track modes. The tires are Pirelli P Zeros, 255/ZR20 in the front and 305/30 ZR20 in the rear.
As part of Aston Martin's 100th anniversary celebration, a Vanquish was airlifted onto the helipad of the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on January 17, 2013
